The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.
(Psalms 19:1)
This book looks at the spiritual practice of Christians through the eyes of one who can often be found in the wilds.
As a guide and a teacher of both spiritual skills and survival techniques I see a parallel with how we can successfully negotiate our spiritual situations in the same way I instruct people on how to be safe and healthy in the wilderness.
In the world of wilderness survival, two schools of thought are prevalent. One uses the techniques required by the military and the other is an earth-based style. The first deals with the proper use of a long list of gear the other leans toward survival with only the things the natural world provides and the skill one has to manipulate those resources.
These techniques certainly overlap and if one is exposed to elements that can cause harm it is wise to use all the resources and knowledge available to be protected and comfortable. This applies to spiritual endeavors as well.
This book offers the opportunity to use all the resources made available in God's Word to be safe in the pursuit of spiritual exploration.
